We are currently recruiting for a Manager of Corrective Maintenance to work in Maintenance Services with Campus Services & Business Operations for this exciting opportunity.

Are you a professional with experience in Maintenance Services? Do you possess at least 5 years’ of experience overseeing maintenance and licensed Trades’ People within a unionized environment? Do you possess knowledge of engineering principles, building codes and regulations? Do you possess superior Customer Service skills including excellent communication skills and the ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships? If so, keep reading!

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient provision of repair and maintenance services are implemented in over 100 multi-story buildings (e.g. academic, research, administrative, residential, leased space) and associated infrastructure at the University. Services provided include maintenance and repair to all interior and exterior buildings, equipment and mechanical and structural systems. The Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program for all buildings and infrastructure. Assists the Director, in ensuring a safe, reliable and satisfactory working / learning environment for staff and the community. This position is responsible for maintaining positive labour relations, being fully knowledgeable with respect to all related collective agreements and ensuring policies, procedures and disputes are resolved appropriately and effectively. This position contributes to the development and implementation of budgetary controls.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:

A post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Sciences is required. Preferably holds the designation of Second Class Stationary Engineer. Knowledge of building construction / sciences and maintenance activities is required. Completion of courses in business or the equivalent education and experience required. Must hold a valid membership with Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO). In addition, the successful incumbent will possess a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience working in a unionized environment overseeing maintenance and licensed trades’ people. Experience in building construction / sciences and maintenance activities are required. Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
