We’re excited to share that registration for the OAPPA 2026 Conference is officially OPEN! We can’t wait to welcome you to Sault Ste. Marie for an inspiring and unique conference hosted at Algoma University.
How registration works:
Registration is completed through one simple registration form and includes the following required steps:
- Complete the OAPPA 2026 Conference Registration Form.
- Follow the Eventbrite link within the registration form to complete the registration payment (including a guest/spouse ticket if applicable).
- Once payment is complete, Eventbrite will issue a confirmation number. You will be prompted to return to the registration form where you will enter this confirmation number(s) to finalize your registration.
- As in previous years, OAPPA will be covering the conference registration cost for one member from each institution. (The member does not need to be a first-time attendee). To take advantage of this subsidy, the unit head must reach out to Dave Cano (canotind@mcmaster.ca) to request the promo code.

Registration closes May 11, 2026. We encourage early registration to secure your spot as space is limited.
Cancellation & Refund
Cancellations received on or before April 30, 2026 are eligible for a refund less a $100 administration fee. Cancellations received after April 30, 2026 are non-refundable.

What To Expect
A draft conference schedule is now available on the conference webpage. While we continue to finalize a few logistical details, the schedule will be updated regularly as plans are confirmed. Please note that the schedule includes embedded links, including a short survey where you can share your thoughts on potential breakout session topics. For convenience, the survey is also linked here.
This year’s program is shaping up to be something special — featuring our keynote speaker, Tye Farrow, a boat cruise, and a variety of other engaging evening events and daily activities designed to encourage sharing ideas, learning and networking.
The Miss Marie Boat Cruise is a sponsored event and included at no cost. A separate sign-up link will be emailed to registered attendees and, due to limited capacity, seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Conference Travel Option – Chartered Bus
The OAPPA executive is committed to finding solutions to barriers to attending the annual conference. One way we are doing this is by organizing transportation via chartered buses that will leave from key locations in Ontario to take members to Algoma’s campus in Sault. Ste. Marie (tentative departures from McMaster, YorkU and uOttawa). The conference registration form includes a travel section for you to indicate which mode of travel you plan on taking. If you plan on taking advantage of the chartered bus option, please inform us by selecting that option on the form.
Hotel booking is also open!
Preferred conference rates are available at select hotels on a first-come, first-served basis, so book early to secure your spot. Booking links can be found on the conference webpage.
Everything OAPPA 2026 — including hotel details, schedule updates, and event announcements — will be posted on the conference webpage, so be sure to check back often as we continue to add new information.
Please share this invitation with colleagues at your institution who may be interested in attending. Each attendee must complete their own registration form to be considered registered.
Each paid attendee may register one guest/spouse for an additional $121.85 (subject to availability), which includes access to select evening social events and evening meals. Guest registration must be completed through Eventbrite and does not include daytime conference sessions.
